Gary Gritness - The Legend of Cherenkov Blue (Hypercolour Records)
One of the best pieces of art and best names that I’ve heard for an electronic album in quite a long time.
Gary Gritness is giving the world 10 tracks of pure interesting electo synth dance music.
The tracks are 16 bit sounding, their acid sounding. I don’t know how I’d ever classify what this is.
It’s incredibly cool and super funky and definitely the kind of interesting stuff that Hypercolour always manages to get their hands on.
This entire album feels like it’s the best soundtrack from a game that never existed. As if a top down sega game that never got appreciated had this as it’s audio. There are moody points, scenic sounding tracks. Really intense action packed tracks. I don’t know it’s definitely an album I’d be leaping for if I was an indie game developer looking for some oomph.
This is apparently Gary’s first full length album. It’s definitely built like an album it’s just so surprising that he hasn’t had an LP out before. With such a tremendous love and respect for his live shows on the internet I just assumed I was late to the party.
Awesome piece of music. Thanks Gary Gritness.
