Mall Grab & Nite Fleit - Moogie (Looking For Trouble 003)
Mall Grab has blessed the world with his 3rd release on his own label and this time is joined by long time friend and collaborator Nite Fleit.
Two collab tracks on the EP as well as a solo track from each of them. First time I really listened to a Nite Fleit set was on her Boiler Room in London last year. Definitely got that 90s rave vibe from her and her solo track on this EP “Hot Bot” is some proper electronic rave vibes. This is a proper dance floor crusher. Give me a pitch black room and this track and it’s going to go off.
Mall Grabs solo track “Reconnaissance” is definitely along the same kind of vibe as “Hot Bot”. Super nice percussion and hats and a rattling bass line and some chopped up vocals on top of this super vibey rave synths.
The EP title track “Moogie” definitely feels like the two had been getting deep into the minimal techno scene. Super well produced and mixed. The builds are so progressive and nice. Really busted up synth patterns and not to much emphasis on much except that kick.
”Anatomy Of The Senses” is definitely my favourite track on the EP though. I’m such a sucker for acid and the track starts off in that same techno vibe that the rest of the EP did then all of a sudden it starts to slowly progress into this huge acid track with such a sick open Hi Hat. That drop hits hard and the acid synths really pan from speaker to speaker a lot. Definitely does something to the senses.
